I'm Tim Illguth. I spent fourteen years on mission-critical security infrastructure at NASA's Alaska Satellite Facility — systems where an outage wasn't an inconvenience, it was lost science. That's the standard I hold a small-business website to, even though the stakes are friendlier.
These days I build full-stack web applications, blockchain systems, and the kind of straightforward, fast, well-built business sites you'll find on the work page. Golden Heart Web Design exists because enough people asked me to build them one that it stopped making sense to do it ad hoc.
Why the prices are what they are
Agencies charge $100–$300 a month for a basic site and $300–$800 for booking, because an agency has account managers, a sales team, and an office. I have a terminal and a phone. You get the same quality without paying for the overhead — and you talk to the person actually writing the code.
Setup is free because I'd rather earn your business over a year than extract $1,200 up front and hope you're happy. In exchange, plans carry a 1–2 year service agreement. That's the whole trade, stated plainly.
Where the money goes
Proceeds from Golden Heart Web Design fund Golden Heart Innovations, a patent acquisition platform. It buys patents from independent inventors — people who built something real but don't have the capital to license and defend it — and shares the resulting royalties back with them.
Independent inventors are the group most likely to have a genuinely good idea and the least likely to see a dollar from it. Every website built here puts a little more money behind them.
What you can expect
